DC Metro Outing to the National Mall

Don't know the Metro system?

Don't feel comfortable navigating it alone?

No problem! We're going to meet up and go into DC together!

We'll meet at the New Carrollton Metro Station, I'll teach you how to buy/load your Metro card and we'll head off to DC together! You'll have a couple of hours to explore the museums on your own. We'll then meet back up to metro home together.

Experience Art: A Children's Tour of the National Gallery of Art

On this tour, you'll solve riddles and puzzles. Put on your detective hat and figure out the mystery art piece while learning what it really means to look at and appreciate art.

Vertical Flight Design Challenge at the National Air and Space Museum

at the College Park Aviation Museum

Listen to a story about airmail pilots while sitting in front of the Curtiss "Jenny" and learn about air mail and the lives of air mail pilots. Then, enjoy a hands-on experience of becoming a pilot, including interactive activities in the museum's hands-on room and instructional space.

Museum admission is included, so you can continue to explore the museum after the program.

Weather permitting, we will have a picnic after in their outdoor picnic area, so be sure to pack a lunch!

The kids become architects and practice the skills architects use every day. Guided by a museum educator, the kids will practice drawing, model-making and examining the world around them.

Designing for Disaster, grades 5-9

How do you design a building to survive an earthquake? Kids explore existing ideas before designing and testing their own earthquake resistant buildings. The program is guided by a museum educator.

A Note about Adult Supervision

*An adult is required to attend with each child. If you have children in each program, please purchase an additional adult ticket and arrange for another adult to be present. If you have a friend attending, please let me know that they will be the responsible adult for your child during the program. Adults should be ready and willing to help out when needed. Thank you!
